7 Quick Takes Friday #4/Catch Up Coffee Girls

>> Saturday, May 29, 2010

---1---
Well Coffee Ladies, and Friday followers, welcome all! It's been a little while since I had the presence of mind to post on a Friday, but I want to try and remedy that! I would have posted earlier, but this has been an insane week.

---2---
My Mom & I met up with our attorney yesterday, which is one reason I've been distracted. The antagonists have both been served, and we're geared to go. Hopefully I'll have my precious Jewel back soon. Pray hard!

---3---
Memorial Day weekend has me thinking about the military. Which makes me think of Gunlover.  I miss him tremendously when he's overseas. We have a little over 4 months until he comes home. We decided to take Jewel's birthday, my birthday, his birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day & our anniversary and just have one whale of a party when he comes home.

---4---
I'm plugging away at medical transcriptions training, and I might be insane. I've decided to add medical editor and medical coding to my training workload. Then I want to take the CCS, which is the Certified Coding Specialist exam, which can boost the amount of money you can make. That's a $300 test! I'll have to work on that.
---5---
I'm having a blast working on my 3rd blog. I have on with my husband, and we're enjoying have that to play around with in his absence. Then I've got the latest one, my review blog. So far I've reviewed a blogging service, several books, and tonight I got to review a movie! :) Now I just need to think of more things to blog.

---6---
Speaking of my 3rd blog, I'm starting to settle into a routine. Now I just need to get better at visiting other blogs and meeting other bloggers. That and working Twitter into the mix. I'm still learning all about how it works, and how to best utilize it.

---7---
Well I hope everyone has a lovely Memorial Day weekend. To the military spouses whose blogs I've discovered, I hope you have an especially wonderful weekend. I hope your spouses are safe, wherever they may be. Everyone, please comment & let me know what your weekend plans are! :)

7 Quick Takes Friday #3

>> Friday, April 23, 2010

Welcome Coffee girls! What beverage are you enjoying on this fine Friday? I hope the weather is as beautiful for you, as it is for me today. We're enjoying sunshine and warm weather, but I hear we have rain tomorrow. Well here goes with this weeks 7 Quick Takes.

---1---

I really miss Gunlover being here, but I feel better now that I can see him. For me, the hardest part is while he's in the air, and I can't talk to him and know he's okay. Now that I can see and talk to him every night when he gets off work, it's a lot easier to handle.

---2---

We need prayers for funding. We're literally 1 step away from finally being able to go to court for Jewel. But we need transcripts from another case the antagonist was involved in, and the darn things are $750. We need prayers that funding will be provided for the transcripts, and for Bunny & I to travel home to finally have my other baby with me.
<--Jewel

---3---

I also need prayers that I find a church. I'm having a really hard time, because I have very specific guidelines for the kind of church I want. I have/had an AWESOME church back home, so it set the bar really high.

---4---

I'm really stressing out, and trying not to...ever have those days? Of course you have..everyone has. I'm pray for the perfect peace right now. I'm closer than I've ever been, to having Jewel back, and I'm incredibly excited, and I'm frustrated too. The closer I get, the harder this is. I know I'll have her back soon. It's been 4 long years, but God has been paving the way.

---5---

I love having a baby around again...the baby smell, the sweet snuffly sounds they make. But kids are fun at any age..my neighbor has a 2 year old with most hilarious laugh...my 8 year old sister cracks me up with the unique clothing combinations to tries to get away with (usually for church). Take time today, to enjoy each of your kids for what makes them fun. Feel free to share one of your favorite things about your kids. :)

---6---

Alright ladies..I need some life in my house. Any ideas for pretty indoor plants, that don't require tons of upkeep?

---7---

This weekend, I'll be getting things more organized. I plan to set up my to-do's for the week, as well as sitting down and menu planning. What's your weekend game plan?

7 Quick Takes Friday #2

>> Friday, April 9, 2010

Company girls welcome! Hope you are enjoying your Coffee Friday. :) We're at that weekly question....what beverage of choice, are you enjoying today? I'm enjoying a lovely chilled soda...mmm caffeine. My daughter is having no problems sleeping, so I'm apparently finding the right balance that keeps me awake, but her sleeping!

---1---

As you know, Bunny greeted the world Sunday night. My little Easter princess! Jewel found out about her today, and is dying to meet her. Please pray my little girl gets to come home soon!

---2---

If you have good in-laws, then thank God for them! The more I struggle with my ex-mother-in-law, the more grateful I am, that not only was I blessed with an incredible husband this time, but that he has a great family as well.

---3---

Spring, Easter, Bunny...all mark new beginnings. This is on the brain. Getting Jewel back will mark a new chapter in our family. Having Gunlover back from his tour (please come soon October) will mark a new chapter in our marriage. This is a new season!!!

---4---

Along with the changes to the family, I'm looking forward to my own personal changes. While Gunlover is completing his tour, I'll be taking the opportunity to get back in shape from Bunny. I'm also working on the reading challenge, and I'm planning on using the time to pick up a new hobby, skill or something!

---5---

High on the scale of randomness, but hey..it's my blog right? I hate stupid commercials, and I'm really grateful to whoever invented the DVR. I realize this every time I watch live TV, cause if I never saw another commercial for "male enhancement products", birth control, "feminine hygiene" or a certain seafood company who likes risque or obnoxious campaigns..it would be too soon!!!

---6---

I love having Gunlover home...I feel really sorry for people who don't get along with their spouse. My dearest leaves again for Korea on the 17th. I broke down crying the other night, realizing how much he'll miss. He'll be gone for 5.5 months of Bunny's life, my 25th birthday, his 24th birthday, our 1 year anniversary, my court battle to get Jewel back...so much that I really wish he was going to be here for. These days only stand to make our marriage stronger though. And thank God for the inventor of the webcam!

---7---

Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude. I'm thankful for my awesome family, both blood & married in. I'm thankful that I had a successful delivery, and that I'm healing quickly. I'm thankful that she's a healthy baby, and her cord is also healing quickly. I'm thankful that Gunlover was home for her birth, and is getting to spend some time with her before he leaves again. I'm thankful that God provides, no matter what the situation is.

7 Quick Takes Friday #1

>> Friday, March 19, 2010

Company girls welcome! Hope you are enjoying your Coffee Friday. :) Once again, I will ask the question, what beverage are you enjoying today with your blog explorations? Tea? Coffee? Cocoa? Soda? If you're enjoying a tasty treat with your choice beverage, feel free to share that as well...pregnant women like talking about food..hehe.

---1---

I'm really excited that Gunlover will be home soon! It is a little over 5 days until he gets here. For him, there's only 4 days left. This child is squirming around..I think she's excited too!

---2---

Babies are cute, no matter how many you've seen, or how impending your own is. I held the neighbor baby yesterday, and thoroughly enjoyed it. And I think babies can sense each other...cause my kiddo rolled over and kicked him..poor thing!

---3---

Dumb things sometimes happen for a reason. Apx 1.5 months ago, I had severe prego-brain, and locked myself out of the house. I knocked on my neighbors door, and she kindly housed me until the realtor came (hours later), and unlocked my door. We have since hit it off, been out to eat several times, went to the craft store yesterday, and were up until 4am just having girl time with our other neighbor.

---4---

God's perfect peace is an incredible blessing in difficult times. The antagonist went off the grid for a few days...shortly after we dispatched a demand letter to her, informing her that we require custody be given back to me, or should this go to court we will revoke all of her (non-existent) grandparent rights. However it didn't worry me. I'm a veteran, with an active duty husband, with guaranteed insurance/housing/income, in training for a work-from-home job, vs. an alcoholic, pain-med-addicted, bitter woman in a broken-down trailer.

---5---

God's mercy is extended to all, and I'm grateful that He keeps that in my mind. Again, this helps with the perfect peace. Despite all that the antagonist has put me through, I'm not angry with her. She upsets me, frustrates me, makes me sad, but I don't hate her. I actually feel sorry for her. She dearly needs the love of God in her life, and my family & I pray continually that she would find Him. She's about to be at her lowest point...in that place, you either wallow in your self-destruction, or you climb out through the grace of God. We sincerely pray for the latter.

---6---

Good friends & family are a Godsend in these times. My aforementioned neighbors are Christian women, and mothers at that. So rather than merely being shocked at my situation, they hurt for me in a way that only mothers can. I hear it in my own mothers voice when we discuss how things are going. Knowing that others are pulling for me, praying for me, and sincerely desire for me to come out on top, makes all the difference.

---7---

God is awesome!!! I finally received my VA paperwork, and I will be receiving a paycheck for the rest of my life. Now while being "disabled" may not seem like a good thing, extra money is absolutely extra money, and we believe with all our hearts that beloved Jewel will be returned to us soon, so this feels like God providing us extra income for extra expenses.
